Geisha in Mirror
Kitagawa Utamaro (Japanese: c. 1753 – 31 October 1806) was a Japanese artist. He is one of the most highly regarded practitioners of the ukiyo-e genre of woodblock prints, especially for his portraits of female beauties, or bijin-ga….http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Utamaro
I featured Utamaro’s artwork of Bijinga admiring themselves in mirrors to create this Japanese inspired pair of asymmetrical earrings, The images are on laminated photo paper layered with chipboard, they are 1-1/8″ long by 3/4″ wide. Dangling below the images are hand mirrors with face images from Utamaro’s artwork, plus cut glass and pearl beads. The earrings are 3-1/4″ long from the top of the surgical steel ear wire to the bottom of the charms.
